Tech News: YouTube has shared big news for Indian creators. In the last three years, the platform has paid more than Rs 21,000 crore to content creators, artists, and media companies in India. This information was revealed by YouTube CEO Neal Mohan during an event in May, where he spoke about the growing earnings of creators on the platform.
Neal has already mentioned the growing popularity of YouTube in India, stating that last year alone, 10 crore channels were uploaded in India, out of which 15,000 creators crossed the milestone of 1 million subscribers.
The CEO has already said that for creators, YouTube has become a medium to connect with viewers all over the world. Praising India, he said that India is utilizing this opportunity in the best possible way, while very few countries have been able to do so.
In May, Neal Mohan had said that their platform is going to invest further in the Indian creators’ economy. According to him, in the coming two years, an investment of ₹850 crore will be made.
